I may put pupils in the eyes, not sure yet. If so, it will be easier to do after the clay firms up in a few days. I kind of like the way the eye orbs relate to the other roundish shapes and volumes: the dome of the head, the shape of the mouth, the volume inside the mouth cavity.Â

i’m up to six now (3/21), just put five in the kiln five minutes ago … am shooting for getting them patinaed by april 1, but don’t know if i can get all (or any) of them done by then … i plan to use oil paint and don’t know if it will dry fast enough … may take them to the mask show curator with “wet paint” signs on them
